The Velocity are very excited to announce that Steve "Doc" MacGregor has joined the Velocity in the position of Team Physician. Doc brings with him several years of experience as a physician but a lifetime of experience as a lacrosse enthusiast. Steve played his Jr and Sr lacrosse in Orangeville and Brampton before settling in the KW area. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Medicine in 1987 allowed Doc to open up a family practice in Kitchener.
Since that time, Doc has been a team physician for several local minor teams as his boys progressed through the ranks but made his break with the KW Braves JR A team in 1990. From there his resume is quite impressive including stints with the U18 Hockey team that Travelled to Tokyo, Japan in 1992. In 1996, Doc was the physician on site for the Skate Canada Competition in Kitchener, ON. In 2006 he moved onto Sr Lacrosse when the KW Kodiaks came calling and from 2011 to present
he has assisted the Wilmot Wild Lacrosse club with medical duties. His most impressive accomplishment to date was being selected to the Team Canada U-19 squad as Team Physician which travelled to Coquitlam, B.C. in 2016. This team achieved a Silver Medal which was a tremendous accomplishment for all of those involved.
Steve has also become an expert colour analyst for Rogers TV lacrosse and has enjoyed great success with the Wilmot Wild broadcasts over the last few seasons. We look forward to Doc being a part of the Velocity broadcasts in 2017 and in the seasons to come.
